Nicky Clarke Russell Hobbs 18087 Glass Jug Blender

The perfect blend of classic style and useful features, this will look fabulous on any kitchen work surface. Featuring a 1.5L glass jug, two speed settings and three programmes, it's ideal for summer drinks like smoothies and milkshakes, but also great for baby food, soups and purées.

good buy
Date:10 April 2012
Had an older version for many years which eventually leaked. So bought this as a replacement, although it doesnt have a tap like previous model which I would have liked. It is glass instead of plastic and seems much the same as my older model. Is is easy to clean and use, so a great reliable blender.I use it for sauces ,gravy, soups and smoothies and it does them just fine.

After doing lots of research, this one looked to be the best one for the money I wanted to spend, a good average price.
However, when going to the shop to see and buy it, I was very disappointed. On the plus side, it looks and feels like a good quality, robust appliance. However, trying to lock/unlock the jug from the base was a total nightmare! This is not a product designed for women, unless you have big and very strong hands! After perservering for a good quarter of an hour with it, I finally gave up and chose a different model instead. I purchased the Sainsburys equivalent which actually worked out cheaper and has a better spec! It also seems to be excellent quality, very robust and extremely easy to detatch from the base, unlike the R Hobbs model.
